Tips for Feeding Time

1. Variety is the spice of life – Just like us our dogs like variety in their meals and the Raw Food Diet provides lots of opportunity for your dog to experience a number of different foods. Typically what I do is feed raw chicken with a veggie mixture one day and the next day use the fruit mixture.

2. Let the dog’s feces tell you what he needs in his diet. If the dog is straining during bowel movements he needs less fibre and more Vitamin C so you will feed him more fruit and less veggies. If the dog’s stool is loose, use more fibre (veggies) and less fruit. Pumpkin is great for loose stools and can be mixed right in with the dog’s food.

3. If you have a sick dog you need to speak to a veterinarian and do your research to determine which fruits and veggies are most beneficial to your dog’s medical condition.

4. Supplements are also helpful in rounding out your dog’s diet and may also be required to maximize the health benefits and greatly enhance your dog’s quality of life.
